Last night, the Mobile BayBears were rained-out pushing tonight’s start time to 5PM. Given the chance for rain tonight, it is possible that the game(s) will be postponed again (but I’m still holding out hope).
The call on the class activity will be made not later than 3:00PM. If we still go to the BayBears, be at Hank Aaron Stadium at 4:30PM (travel time from church is 1 hour–in good weather).
The alternate activity will be at 5PM at Fox’s Pizza Den, 3179 Mallet Road in D’Iberville. This is right next door to Lazer Craze which has video games, putt-putt, and laser tag.
Patricia Ladner, 18-year old niece of Jeremy and Romona McGill, is in critical condition after being in an automobile accident yesterday afternoon in Pass Christian. Tricia is in critical condition at the University of South Alabama Medical Center. Her brother, Cody, and friend, William Smith, were killed in the same accident.
Also pray for Mike and Rhonda Johnson, Patricia and Cody’s parents.
Contenders, don’t forget the cook-out tonight, Saturday, May 17th, at Pastor’s home. We will meet at 5PM for steaks and all the fixin’s. At 5:50PM, we’ll leave for putt-putt in Biloxi.
Plan ahead, this is an adults-only activity. No children are allowed!

From Christianity Today:
The 55 percent who read the KJV easily outnumber the 19 percent who read the New International Version (NIV). And the percentages drop into the single digits for competitors such as the New Revised Standard Version, New America Bible, and the Living Bible.
According to the 2013 American Bible Society “State of the Bible” report, The people who actually read the Bible, read the King James Bible.
Even though the top-selling Bible version is the NIV based on Thom S. Rainer’s Top Ten Bible Translation in the United States, the King James Bible is the translation that Christians go to. Some of this may be driven by demographics–ratio of young verses older people who actually read vs. buy Bibles, but that doesn’t tell the full story.
The above graphic shows that the people who study the Bible (2 Tim. 2:15) as determined by online searches read and research the King James Bible.
Unfortunately, the real tale of the tape isn’t so good. “[Another study] found that fewer Americans read their Bibles every day—just 9 percent, less than the 13 percent recorded by Barna and half of the 18 percent found by Lifeway.”
America needs revival today!

A slightly younger Pastor Kennedy
Please lift-up Pastor Kennedy in your prayers.
Pastor Kennedy spent the night in Memorial Hospital after undergoing his stress test yesterday. Sometime today, the doctors will be operating on his heart (exactly what procedure is yet to be determined).
